Across 14 Louisiana parishes, the Istrouma Area Council, Scouting America, serves nearly 3,000 youth and over 1,000 dedicated adult leaders. Our Council Adult Recognition Banquet is the highlight of the year—celebrating our shared successes—and this year’s event promises to be our most memorable yet. We will be honoring Distinguished Scouters nominiated and awarding the highest Council and District Awards.


Silver Beaver Award Presentations – The Silver Beaver Award is the highest and most prestigious council-level distinguished service award given by Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) to adult volunteer leaders. It recognizes registered Scouters who have created a lasting, positive impact on the lives of youth through years of dedication, hard work, and self-sacrifice.

North Star Award Presentations – The Boy Scouts of America (Scouting America) North Star Award is a prestigious recognition honoring non-Scouters or former Scouters for distinguished service and significant contributions to the Scouting movement.

$40 for adults | $20 for youth (ages 4 and under are free)

Silver Beaver and North Star Award recipients will be honored guests at the banquet, with complimentary admission.
