Intro to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST)

Thank you for your interest in Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST)! We are excited about this opportunity to enhance your Unit members’ leadership ability.  This ILST course will provide attendees with a basic knowledge of leadership skills needed for effectively running their patrols and troops.  This course also serves as a prerequisite course for youth members planning to attend National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT).

This course comprises three modules and a handful of leadership/topic-focused games.  Each module focuses on a different aspect of what it means for a scout to be a leader in their patrols and troops.  The main takeaways from each module focus on unit organization, utilizing the leadership skills in the unit, and how to efficiently work with the members of your unit as a team.

Participants are required to stay the entirety of the program.  This program should not last more than 24 hours.  Please be prepared with a great attitude and be ready to participate in lessons and activities/games throughout the training.
