We invite Scouts & youth across the world to join us again in reading their own faith’s sacred texts. Together, we can recognize our Duty to God, participating as a group or on your own. Read your sacred texts on May 1, 2025, or any time that week. Join Scouting America, other youth organizations and all faith youth groups in a celebration of sacred texts.
Last year, 3,673 Scouts from around the world made history on May 2, the United States National Day of Prayer. Our first Scouts Read Sacred Texts Worldwide event greatly exceeded expectations. Scouts read sacred texts for over 800 hours. Most Scouts read at home with their families. In addition to the United States, Scouts from Kenya, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Bangladesh, Chile, Singapore, Japan and the Philippines participated.
This year, we're expanding and inviting all youth to join us in reading the Bible, Torah, Quran or their Sacred Texts the week of May 1, which is the U.S. National Day of Prayer. Youth may read on the evening of May 1 or anytime that week that's convenient. Youth may read at home with their families or at their place of worship. Some locations will be broadcasting this event on YouTube or Facebook live.
Each youth that participates will have engaged in a discussion with their Faith Leader, family or friend about the Bible or their Faith’s Sacred Texts. For some, it may be the first time they have read their Scripture. Our hope is it will not be the last. We are encouraging a practice that continues to change lives.

These patches and stickers are used to celebrate Our scouts and youth read sacred texts event, which is being held the week of the National Day of Prayer on May 1, 2025. We suggest ordering in advance so they can be given out that week.
The patch is like the image below, a 3 x 3 with a button loop. Patches can be purchased individually or in larger cost saving quantities.
