**Join us at our Over the Edge for Scouting Rappelling Day in downtown Baton Rouge!**

Over the Edge for Scouting Rappelling Day brings together top corporate and community leaders to strengthen our families and communities through Scouting. Rappellers will enjoy a fun-filled day rappelling down the river side at The Rivermark Centre in downtown Baton Rouge.

Proceeds from this event will support local Scouting programs within the Council providing experiences that develop self-esteem, character values, and life skills and enhance the lives of young people across our community.

When: Wednesday, October 29, 2025 - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Where: The Rivermark Centre, 450 Laurel Street, Floor 8, Baton Rouge, LA 70801

Attire: Comfortable, breathable, and moisture-wicking clothing like activewear or athletic pants and shirts, avoiding loose or dangling items that could snag on ropes or equipment. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes like hiking boots or sneakers are recommended.

This will be a Halloween themed event this year, so costumes are encouraged, but not required. Accessories will be allowed, but will have to be vetted through the OTE crew.

Details: Scouting America is the Nation’s leading outdoor education and character development program. The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Scouting has shaped me into the person I am today through countless experiences of Camp Staff, Philmont, numerous National Jamborees, Wood Badge Courses and interacting with other people who believe in the program. I have a love for climbing and rappelling and wouldn't trade this opportunity for anything to benefit such a valuable program that I benefited from not only as a youth but as an adult. The leadership training and opportunities this program provides to shape people to be better leaders is why I still support Scouting today, once an Eagle always an Eagle.
