Istrouma Area Council, Boy Scouts of America Launches Campaign for Avondale Scout Reservation

 

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana: The Istrouma Area Council, Boys Scouts of America announces the launch of the Building the Future Campaign for construction of new facilities at Avondale Scout Reservation. This campaign is seeking private philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and organizations. The Council plans updates to the waterfront, a new aquatic facility, climbing tower, aerial adventure course and state of the art shooting facility to improve the experience of Scouts and to provide more public facility access to church groups, 4-H clubs and more.

Roger Cador and Skip Bertman are chairing the campaign to help make these new facilities become a reality. A special reception with a presentation highlighting the planned facilities will be held at Lipsey’s, 7277 Exchequer Dr Baton Rouge, LA 70809, on Sept 10th at 5:30 pm.

The Boy Scouts of America incorporated in 1910 and was chartered by Congress in 1916. Since 1917, the Istrouma Area Council, Boy Scouts of America has delivered high-quality traditional and at-risk youth programs Scouting programs to its 13-Louisiana parish service area consisting of: Ascension, East and West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington and Wilkinson County, Mississippi. The Istrouma Area Council is the largest Boy Scout Council in Louisiana.
